Michigan Friday: Don't Read Any Headlines Today

For all you April Fools Jokesters lets get all the FAKE headlines out of they way first:

  • Tressel Resigns
  • Tressel suspended for the year
  • Denard breaks his ankle
  • Zack Novak is entering the NBA Draft
Does that pretty much cover it?

On to more Michigan information:

  • Brian Kelly confirms that Michigan will wear "throw back jerseys" for the first night game at the Big House:  But yeah, we're going to have throwback uniforms. As they will. I can tell you what theirs look like: They have a block 'M' on them, and a number, and a number on their helmet. How's that? The adidas people at Michigan are going to be (ticked) at me."

  • A Mgoblog poster (and probably a HS coach) attended practice yesterday and has detailed write up here.   There is quite a lot of good information in there about Big Will and Q on the Dline, the secondary, and linebackers.

  • Information on recent A2 visitor and Cleveland offensive lineman Kyle Dobson from the Plain Dealer:  During a recent unofficial visit to Michigan, Cleveland Heights coach Jeff Rotsky said Michigan coaches told him they wanted Dodson to be a cornerstone in what they hope will be a revived running game. Rotsky said Ohio State has offered a scholarship, pending Dodson clearing an academic hurdle. Dodson also has visited Alabama and Auburn and has summer trips planned to Penn State and Notre Dame. His other offers include Michigan State, Illinois, Wisconsin, West Virginia and Pittsburgh. Florida has expressed interest.

  • TomVH catches up with two recent visitors: Jonah Pirsig and AJ Williams.

  • Former Michigan visitor from Wisconsin LB Vince Biegel seems to be down to Wisconsin and BYU.

Terelle Pryor considers a transfer and RR re-thinks leaving WVU

4/1/2008: Many media outlets are reporting that Terelle Pryor is re-considering his choice in colleges. He said in a recent visit to University of Ohio State that he didn't know there was an "outlet" mall located so close to Columbus and that Florida University was much warmer. "My talents are more suited for a warmer climate"

More to come on this story, but insiders have said TP and Justin Boren have become close and considering a package deal to a new school.
______

With the recent success of WVU Basketball team, some high profile recruits committing to WVU football team for 2009, and the $4 Million law suit pending; Coach Rod is secretly telling friends that leaving West Virgina was a mistake. With all these things in play Coach Rod's time in Ann Arbor could come to end very soon. Look for an announcement in the next 2 weeks as he tries to get out of his Michigan commitments while re-negotiating a new contract with the Mountaineers.

Bill Martin was unavailable for comment. His staff said he was in the Bahamas on a much needed vacation.
