Michigan Football right now is being led by rich man Biff Poggi. If you didn't know Biff and his father-in-law started a hedge fund in the 80's that has done really well. Biff invested $25K in 1986 and today his net worth is in the neighborhood of $10M.
Warde maybe one of the worst AD's in the history of Michigan Athletics, is trying to find the next Dusty May hire after he hired a guy with a background of office Tomfoolery just 2 years ago.
Michigan might need mentalist Michigan Man Oz Pearlman to help with this coaching search. He would be great in negotiating with this high powered agents. People got so mad with Connor reading their signals, could you imagine what Big 10 coaches would do if Oz just stood on the Michigan sideline and stared at the opposition coaches?
Hire Oz! 😂

Tyrone Wheatley seems to think that Jeff Brohm would be a very successful coach at Michigan. I haven't kept up with him that much but if Wheat is on the money with this guy, then I'd put him at least in second place over Dillingham. I would go ahead and interview him asap. IMHO!!!
Warde is a butt-hole baby > he was crapped out not borne like the rest of us. If I had a bulldog that looked like him, I would shave my dog's butt and walk him ass backwards. He almost got Moore's love interest killed. In his firing of Moore, Warde must have alluded to his girlfriend/stalking victim squealing, because Sherrone charged over to her apartment and could have killed her in a rage.
Jumping to another topic, we are all blinded by the star system of rating recruits. I try not to pay attention but still influences me. The Michigan quarterback that is hitting the portal (Davis?) was a 5 star and really never saw the field of play. On the other hand, the Indiana quarterback started out a two star, yet won the Heisman > I rest my case Go sooners!!
Warde needs to be fired now, enough playing games. Jimmy is also dead to me as he endorsed Moore. It's on Warde as he was in charge and you don't hire a guy that has no head coaching experience. Sheronne is garbage and a POS - let him get help and live out his life.
I have to say I am not sold on Dillingham as he had one good year with a portal QB, but I'm not in charge.
I agree. Brohm is a proven winner and can build a program. Dillingham is not proven, and in fact is barely over .500., with 3 years as a head coaching experience. He is Sherrone 2.0
Someone on here said this, and it has quickly become my go to line. 'Hire a clown, get a circus.'
Dillingham out extension signed.
DeBoer wins his game, and Dillingham signs his ASU extension, so what could this mean? Let's take a look.... Dillingham knew that he was the no#2 person on the list and that timing was an important factor here, knowing that Michigan wanted to finalize their hire by their bowl game. This game in the eyes of many meant that if Alabama lost then DeBoer would be open to leaving, winning would mean that he wouldn't be because he'd continue through the playoffs and risking the portal losses.
Once Alabama won Dillingham figured that he'd increase his own value by signing the ASU extension. He's indicating that he has ten toes down and wanting to stay at ASU, and if Michigan wants him then they would have to pay him more, pay his buy out, and pay his chosen staff to come to Michigan. It doesn't mean that he's not coming it's just that he's upped the ante for Michigan. Michigan can indeed afford the higher cost of bringing him here, but do they want to?
If Michigan is smart, they should have been speaking with other candidates just in case this happens. In fact, it's more because of the media that has built up Dillingham as a candidate than Michigan itself. I like Dillingham, but I don't love Dillingham. Michigan can still hire DeBoer if they're willing to wait and if he still wishes to come, but I'm not sure that will happen.
However, I expect that Michigan will now fast track their hire this week, thinking that the new coach can reach out to players, recruits, families and staff before the bowl game. IMHO!!!
Goose: Not necessarily. This was the perfect time for Dillingham to sign the extension. That means that by signing it "now," if he's not hired by Michigan as their new coach, he STILL has this big raise and extension for where he's at, and he still wins. Michigan could certainly afford the buy out if they wanted him. IMHO!!!
I really believe the athletic dept and university is a bit of a hot mess right now. Investigations a potential lame duck AD who could potentially be fired soon. No university president. There’s just a lot of uncertainty swirling around right now.
The timing doesn’t seem favorable for DeBoer and honestly I’m not sure he’s the right guy for Michigan. His run game and defense are generally not very good. Michigan has typically prided itself on the run game and defenses.
I believe a stop gap coach of whittingham or poggi would give the university time to straighten itself out. Hopefully making the job feel more stable to top tier candidates. Guess it’s not my decision tho. That’s up the AD who seems to not hire ethical people. Making me question his ability to get the right guy this time.
Regarding Dillingham, his signing an extension doesn't mean that he doesn't legitimately want to stay at ASU. He may have been using Michigan as leverage to get a raise for him and his staff along with more resources for his program. In any case, I'm thinking that he could really be out of the running for the Michigan job if that's true. So, what does this mean for Michigan's coaching search? It could mean a name coming completely out of left field. Someone that we'd never thought of. In any case I'm hoping that it would be enough to keep our players, recruits and key staff members. IMHO!!!
I am not sold on Dillngham as he had one very good year at ASU with a transfer QB. They sill could hire him, but I don't think he's the answer. I am not in charge, but Michigan is a crap show right now and Warde is at the top of the crap. He and his wife went to ASU and their family is there so no real ties to midwest. That doesn't mean he can't be successful but his agent is probably the one pushing this for his big raise.
