Michigan Monday: Hopes for a Better Week

Last week was very surreal for us Michigan Basketball fans.  In a shocking development, we lost the best coach in College Basketball and 3 players to the NBA Lottery the next day.   I'm happy for all of them advancing their careers and making more money, but it still hurts.  I want to move my focus to Football and the excitement of a new coach and new season, but with it being late June/early July, I just feel a bit stuck in my feels.

Michigan was a finalist for two recruits this weekend, one went to Tennessee and the other went to A&M.  We wish both of them luck at those schools.

  • In terrible news former NFL RB Chris Johnson says he has been diagnosed with ALS.

That's the problem with a home run hire like Dusty! They are typically not coming to AA for their last job. The other side of the coin is, Dusty is going to be a hard act to follow. Its like when Beilein left. People thought Juwan was a home run hire, but he just turned out to be a legacy that wasn't qualified for the job. Chances are the program is going to take another dip. Another problem for Michigan is it is a football school first. Men's basketball will always be a step-child to most of the fan base! So only question is how many coaching hires is it going to take to get Michigan back? and what is back? it might never get back to the level Dusty May got it to. Dusty was not only an elite coach, he was elite at using the portal as well. C'est la vie!
