Michigan accomplished one of its goals on Friday night. They secured the Big Ten Title all to themselves. Now, there are two more goals still out there. #2 is win the Big Ten Tournament and #3 is clearly the NCAA Tournament. Both of those goals just got a little tougher with the loss of Cason to an ACL injury.
To reach both goals its important Michigan finishes with a 2-0 record this week. They travel on Thursday to Iowa who is a 20 win team and face instate rival #8 ranked MSU on Sunday at Crisler. These games are not important for the Big Ten Championship seeding, they are important for Michigan's NCAA seeding and hopefully a #1 seed.
Who is going to play back up point guard? I expect to see Yax play some point forward and Trey McKinney to replace Cason in many situations. The wild card of course is Roddy Gayle and if he can find his game again. If you remember last season, he was in an incredibly bad slump to end the season and then found his game in the post season. We need him to find his game in a similar fashion this year. His game lately has been about poor decisions on driving the basketball, missed 3's, and turnovers. If he continues to play defense, rebound, and distribute the ball, he will find his offense.
Michigan continues to be ranked #3 as Duke has been beating everyone by 30 after their Michigan win.
- Glasgow got released by the Lions yesterday. He has had a tremendous run for a college walk-on. He spent 7 years with the Lions and if he is healthy I expect him to sign with another NFL team.
- The Lions also traded RB David Montgomery yesterday and got an offensive lineman and 2 draft picks from the Texans. This was a smart trade by Detroit, RB's have a very short shelf life in the NFL and the Lions have way too many other needs.
- I know there was some news about Michigan's former head coach and a former staffer this weekend. I wanted you to understand where I am at news regarding that former coach. News of what that former head coach did or didn't do while at Michigan or his legal troubles is only relevant to this blog on the employment or loss of employment for Michigan's athletics director. I understand that the latest news is disturbing and should come with serious consequences for both men involved. This was one of the worst hires in the history of the program and I hope to never hear his name again. Michigan should also be looking for a new AD. I know getting Dusty was a great hire, but it still doesn't make up for the lack of leadership with the football team the last 3-4 years.
- Vincent Gray has signed with the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL

You can't fire someone for an ALLEGED allegation. There is a large majority of women that know how to work the system to their advantage. If you've ever been through a divorce or broke the heart of a scorned women, then you know. By her going to Sherrone to complain about an alleged rape seems she was trying to get her man fired. If she was legitimately concerned she would have gone straight to the police and not continue dating him like she did. It's a 'he said, she said', and belongs on TMZ, not the sports pages.
We don't know what Warde knew. I would hope he did know and did a thorough investigation. It's to his credit that this did not get out to the press and jeopardize the 2023 Championship. Domestic disputes happen everywhere on a regular basis, and until actual crimes are committed, you can't terminate employees every time they get into a dispute at home.
And if you fire an employee without a just cause, then you open yourself up for a lawsuit. So it's a double edge sword.
Sorry, but Warde should've already been fired. If you are the CEO of a company and things are going on that are criminal, unethical, etc, the CEO is fired as this happened on their watch. So I don't care what Warde knew or didn't know, he should be fired.
He wasn't behind Dusty May, that was our boy John Beilein. The house needed and still needs a full cleaning and Warde needs to be fired!
Idk about Warde. Do you have kids? If so, then you know it's pretty darn next to impossible to stop them if they are hell bent on doing something. Same with rouge employees. Can't legislate stupidity.
Yikes, Mastermind. You of course can stop kids or employees from doing stupid things. You create a culture that is positive and accountable. Glad you're not my dad or my boss.
Yes, Mastermind, I do have kids and if my kids throw a party at my house without me knowing and someone gets into an accident or something bad happens due to alcohol, then I am liable even though I had nothing to do with it. It doesn't matter if Warde was a clueless ass clown like he is, he is the AD of the University of Michigan. He never should've hired Moore based on inexperience, but he did because again he is an ass clown. So either way, he is the captain and it happened on his watch. I need to go to therapy to let this go as we are moving on, but as an alum and football fan, I am just pissed as we've had so many ass clown coaches at Michigan starting with Lloyd Carr. Yes, every school has gone through coaches that are bad, but we've had so many.
Goblu- Im glad you're not my kid! According to your logic, you'd have to be taken away into CPS. Go ahead and fire everybody. You'll be sued and have a staff of zero. You obviously do not have management experience.
You certainly made a Grand Canyon sized leap in logic with your comment. You went to your post from my writing “positive and accountable”?? Double yikes.
