Michigan Friday: This Carnival Ride Never Ends

The Michigan fan base has been on a carnival ride ever since early December.  It started with National Signing Day, quickly to the Sherrone firing, to a impromptu coaching search, Michigan played a football exhibition/bowl game, and now the transfer portal.

This is not a Disney ride, it feels more like that traveling amusement park that sits down in your city for  a week and the entire ride collapses in a few minutes to become highway ready for travel to the next town.

The Transfer Portal folks is a complete cluster and I believe this is the last year we are going to see this level of nonsense.   Some governing body has to take control of this situation.  Case in point:

  • Michigan's entire secondary is now in the transfer portal. It can't be about playing time, it has to be about money.  It could be about losing their coach LaMar Morgan but I'm guessing its the money.   Wink giving all these young guys playing time last year, gave them the right to check their value in the portal.
  • Michigan had a big win from the portal in a place kicker from Pitt and one of the top players in the portal DE John Henry Daley from Utah.   That is the good news.
  • The surprising news is that Michigan also signed OK RB Taylor Tatum who was the 2024 #1 ranked RB and was very close to picking Michigan over OK back then.   Taylor is a decent indication that Justice might look to be playing football in the NFL or at another school next year.  Tatum has an issue with fumbling and had a year long hamstring issue this past season, he could be a depth guy.
  • Still no news on Marsh, which even though the reports are positive, it worries me as everyday goes on without a new deal.
  • Freshman 5 star OT Ty Haywood is now in the portal, he redshirted last season.
  • 23 Michigan Football Players are in the portal
  • Michigan does seems to be hosting a ton of good talent from the portal but can they replace the entire secondary?
CFP National Championship will be a Big Ten Team vs. Miami at home in an NFL Stadium that is owned by a Wolverine with his name on the Business School.  Who maybe is in the market for a Harbaugh.

  • That was a pretty good game last night.  Quick question, does Bill Lemonade the ESPN hired official to explain calls, actually understand the rules?  He has as much success at predicting calls as ESPN booth announcer Andre Ware does.  They try to hide Andre on Friday nights but we are on to them!

Not sure what Bob is taking about with no news from Marsh. Multiple publications 3 days ago stated he was returning. This is just one but was on ESPN, 24/7, and others. https://www.maizenbrew.com/football/102665/michigan-football-andrew-marsh-returning-bryce-underwood-kyle-whittingham

Can you imagine this crazy portal sh*t happening "every" year? Rosters turning over, year after year. Kids that aren't good enough to play on a D-1 level let alone the NFL, going into the portal because they want more money. A number of kids going to 3-5 schools based on getting another NIL deal, so you can forget about getting an education. If I wanted to see a bunch of bad football players play and get paid for it, then I'd watch the XFL. This is ridiculous! I'm close to giving up on NCAA sports. IMHO!!!

Justice Haynes is leaving because Baby Jesus told him to. He said it was God's plan so God is a football fan and told him to not go to the NFL, but go to the portal and get the cash. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

I am guessing this is why Whit/Michigan picked up the RB from Oklahoma as Haynes' agent(s) asked for a boat load and they said good luck to you. I think we've had every player on the roster jump into the portal to get more cash. We aren't the only ones, but this is all garbage. It just angers you more about the NCAA as they ruined college sports.

I am with you about giving up on college sports. I only follow Michigan football > but barely > hanging on the rim of the toilet while it's being flushed. All this nonscience might result it half-filled stadiums in the future. I wish Bo and Woody could comment on the goings on now. I bet Bo would have said "nuts" and walked away.

Look its the wild wild west with the TP. and I can't blame anyone who goes into the portal. if someone's going to pay you more, then more power to you. here's the other side of the TP. last year Hayes left Bama for more money. so it shouldn't surprise you that he's leaving Michigan for more money. its like the person who cheats with someone while the other person is married and then is surprised when they turn around and then cheat on you too... once a cheater always a cheater.....once mercenary, always a mercenary

and furthermore, I'm hearing BU got a raise. If I'm anyone on the Michigan roster and see that, I'm asking where's my raise. BU didn't earn what he was paid last year, let alone deserve a raise. JH is the example of money well spent. BU and Andrew Babalola are examples of money poorly spent. The former was not just not good, he was bad and the later was injured. The TP is basically the outsourcing of development. you pay for guys that other teams developed. Its exactly what IU and The U do when it comes to QBs. every year, they go out and buy the best QB in the portal

think Bob's talking about Hillman, Sanders, and Metcalf. not all, but enough

I watch games on mute, can't stand to hear the dolts babble on. Not even sure how Holly Rowe has a job except for the possible fact....she uh, "worked" her way up? She looks like Miss Piggy.

I do as well for the same reason. I watched the UM National Title game on skycam. You only hear the stadium announcer and the crowd. Kind of like being there if you have a big screen TV.

Holly Roe works the side lines because some high-up executive admires full-figured women and she works for less pay. Holly is paid in all-you-can-it stadium food (aka: hotdogs and chips). When I see her, I wish she was more honest and speak in her native tongue and say: "OINK!"
