The Michigan fan base is losing its mind. The community as a whole is very much staring to believe Warde Manuel will not be successful in finding Michigan's next Football Head Coach. If Warde had an approval rating like a sitting US President, it would be a negative number. Warde and his search firm TurnKey, either has an ace up their sleeve or has completely bungled this coaching search.
Alabama wins on Friday night and the common thinking was Michigan would turn their attention from DeBoer to ASU's Dillingham. DeBoer's Alabama doesn't play again until 1/1 and the portal opens the next day. Michigan wanted a new coach in role prior to that date. The problem was Michigan was either not ready to offer Kenny on Friday night or wasn't ever going to. He then signs an extension with ASU Saturday morning. All signs pointed to him not only wanting the Michigan job but also accepting an offer.
So now what?
Your guess is as good as mine. There were two candidates in my mind and it seems Michigan has struck out on both. There is also nothing leaking out, the insiders know nothing. The rest of the candidate pool is not exciting and it seems Michigan is headed to Biff as a short term option with maybe a reset next year. Drink called Michigan's NC fraudulent and has never done anything worth while in the SEC, Kyle Whittingham is 66, he has won a lot of games but is way past his prime (Utah pushed him out for a reason), Who knows what the situation is with Jedd, Vandy's head coach would be interesting Clark Lea. I don't care for Jeff Brohm at all (is Michigan hiring him on his Purdue and Louisville experience?), if your going to roll the dice maybe New Mexico's Jason Ack is worth a call? Ack seems like a good dude and a very good coach.
Why isn't Jesse Minter considered more? I know he doesn't have head coaching experience but damn the NFL is going to hire him (as a head coach) if Michigan doesn't. Biff could keep the boat a float until Jesse is ready to take over.
In my mind, it was a huge mistake to have a top candidate that wanted the job and Michigan was either slow playing him or wasn't interested at all. Chip has already jumped ship and this search looks nowhere near ending.
The flip side where Warde is competent and TurnKey knows what they are doing. I know this is a stretch but hang with me for a second.
1. Michigan has some hand shake agreement with DeBoer that he will 100% come to Michigan after Alabama's playoff run. If that is true, waiting until 10 days is not a killer for right hire. Though hiring Bama's coach in any situation will be difficult, mostly after a playoff run. Very high risk!
2. ASU extension doesn't scare Michigan or the money cannon. If Michigan wants Kenny today, maybe they make him an offer he can't refuse.
3. There is some high profile candidate they have locked up that can't start for awhile. An example would be John Harbaugh or something.
This whole debacle has me remembering when "Sailboat" Bill Martin was on his boat without a functioning cell phone when Les Miles wanted a Michigan offer.
At least we have a great Basketball Team to take our mind of this and the Lions.
Speaking of the Lions, Dan Campbell is doing his best to put me in a Mental Warde. I love how aggressive he is, but he maybe stupidly aggressive. Take the points Dan! I also don't understand how this team in the off season or at the trade deadline didn't improve its defense at all. You can't take guys off the street and win in the NFL. The Lions might have missed their window. Which would be the only window of my lifetime.
- Opts out for the Citrus Exhibition include: Barham, Derrick Moore, and El-Hadi.
- Nick Sheridan the former Michigan QB will be MSU's OC
- Michigan Basketball with another impressive effort on Sunday afternoon. Fun Hack - Check your listings for the NBC Sports Network, it was once dead but its back and many times it has Peacock games without needing a subscription to Peacock. That was a nice bonus for the Michigan game yesterday!

Off Topic: We're hearing that Sherrone Moore was reaching out to various women. Is it possible, that many of the deleted emails/texts etc., were to cover-up his contacts with them while we're thinking that he was covering up his Stallions contacts? Most investigators would have not given the contacts with the women a second thought because they were looking for NCAA violations. Just a thought. IMHO!!!
A strong case for Whittingham:

There's a case for Whittingham I agree, maybe a 3–5-year contract while preparing for the heir apparent when his contract is done. Moreover, he would likely keep the key members of the current staff particularly at this time. IMHO!!!
Bob, please state your reasons for endorsing Kenny Dillingham, because I cannot think of one. That is a bullet dodged.
Anyone panicking over this coaching search doesn't understand football. Would you have preferred to skip the whole process like last year and just hired another Sherrone? How'd that work out?
Does Bob ever reply or engage in conversations? If not, I guess I'm wasting my time.
Absolutely
So many quality coaches are available, including Lea, Key, and Tony Aneese. Let it play out. Either way, we will be better off than with Sherrone. Lets do a thorough search. No one's panicking!
I agree as Kenny Dillingham was not the guy. John Harbaugh, Jesse Minter and then the guy from Vanderbilt.
Reports claim Sherrone would regularly break down and start crying in meetings during the season. How did this guy even last 2 years as head coach? Smh
I like Wittingham. Proven winner.
It will be interesting to see how the Missourri offense looks next year under Chip Lindsey. If we see an even balance of run and pass plays, then we know Sherrone had a hand in the lopsided amount of run plays called here.
Jeff Brohm is also a quality candidate. If you can win at Purdue, you can win anywhere.
Found this interesting on another site....
"Hears a little education since Nobody here knows anything about Utah football. 18 of 21 seasons bowl eligible …. Last season …. One of three of those years …. He had to play the 4th string quarterback. At least 2 first round draft picks will be taken in the coming draft. 5th scoring offense and top 20 scoring defense 2025. Has never lost to Michigan 3-0. People talking age …. What is the average team tenure of a D1 football coach ….. wait for it …. 3.8 years. Destroyed the PAC 12 beating Oregon and USC in championship games back to back years …. They both bolted to big 10 after that. Has an undefeated season …. NCAA coach of the year, PAC 12 coach of the year twice. Skis black diamonds, rides a Harley and beat McAfee arm wrestling on game day show 😜 Left the UTES in great shape with the guy he mentored for 6 years. Name a current coach who might have that resume in 2040! He did this at Utah can you imagine what he can do with Michigans Billions"
Good thought. I can see that.
Stinks for him... no black diamonds in Michigan! Maybe he can use the school's jet to fly west!
Because Warde is an AssClown and needs to be fired but our board of regents are also AssClowns.
Remember last year against Alabama after they fired our OC and we run a trick pass play in the monsoon? That tells you it was Sheronne. It just pisses you off that he was hired in the first place, just should never have happened. Amazing what a shit show Michigan has been since Bo left. We stuck with Lloyd "The Little Bitch" Carr who was a high school coach and nothing more and then RR and Hoke and Sheronne. Even Jimmy had a few years where he was on drugs or something.
Sir Blue Monkey,
As I said a week ago...Hire clowns, you get a circus
Whit would be great, he's Mr Right Now! Excellent football mind, excellent management and solid character. And he's available. It would be important for him to keep Biff as asst head coach.
I have done nothing but defend Jimmy from all the haters over the last few years but maybe they are all right? He was either to Moore or he knew that he "willed" the program to a freak who wasn't putting UM first. Either way, it's bad for Harbs. Maybe he truly wanted to screw UM on the way out. Hard to argue for the man any more.
Rudy, I too defended Jimmy and placed the blame on Warde which it did and does start/stop with Warde. But Jimmy did endorse Sheronne and who knows if he meant it or it was his way to say "screw you" because he took everyone including the strength coach. After I saw Jimmy talk about Warde and say little besides "I am focused on the Chargers and the game", I lost respect for him. Even if he didn't mean it, he should've said a lot more like "Sheronne is a friend and I didn't see this at all, but I pray for him, his wife and three beautiful daughters and I want him to get the help he needs". Either way, a lot happened under his watch and he a lot of sketchy people on staff and he knew the rules and did break some of them so there is a lot on him.
