Michigan Basketball took the floor at Little Caesars last night against Wake Forest. Michigan controlled much of the 1st half but started to miss shots in the 2nd and had to struggle to get the game to OT. The 7'3 Mara is really the difference in this talented team right now. He is a huge rim protector and adds some nice offense. Michigan won the game by 1 point in OT.
Michigan still needs to be better in many areas against good teams.
1. Hit free throws. The game would have been easily handled if the free throws were made.
2. Too many bad turnovers
3. Better point guard play
4. Don't settle for 3 pointers
Many of these issues are the guys not playing much with each other. It will get better and it's a big win, when they are playing so poorly. They also need to hustle, Wake came back in the 2nd by just playing harder. They have a ton of talent on the team and that talent won't win games alone if they don't play hard.
A win is a win and the team is 2-0.
It's flip season as the early signing period will be here before we know it and Michigan flipped another LB yesterday from USF in 3 star athlete Kaden Catching. Kaden is 6'2 220 from Mississippi and had offers from the likes of Memphis, Ole Miss, Liberty, and other smaller programs. Michigan is hoping they found a diamond in the rough here. Welcome Kaden!
Michigan has now flipped prospects from Wisconsin, Miami of Ohio, and USF in the last week.

There was a good discussion in yesterday's comments that I posted late on. So I will re-post my comments today-
I agree with the author. Seems like most of these problems come from bad coaching. Nothing is being corrected. Nothing is even trying to be corrected. Same plays, same players dropping passes, no threat on returns, no TEs being used. Can guarantee you the gameplan against N.W. is to run Marshall 45 times. We will probably score 16 points.
Lil' Bro got the HAMMER!
YES!!! And 97.1 still whining about Michigan. Little Brother still doing little brother things.
To change the subject: there's a rumor that Michigan and USC could possibly leave the B1G conference. It's about money of course, and some feel that it's no chance that it could happen, and they may be correct. However the conference wants the schools to give up a portion of their money and Michigan and USC are saying no.
On another financial front (rumor is) there's a possibility that the conference could expect their schools to restrict their NIL money while the state's legislature may not allow them to so; the issue is how will Michigan and possibly MSU respond to it because if Michigan and MSU don't agree the conference could put the schools out of the conference. In other words, there's enough smoke going on that has caused the speculation about separation one way or another.
You've heard me say a few times in the past year or so that Michigan should seriously consider leaving this conference primarily because the conference had their noses up osu's butt, while trying to put their foot up Michigan's butt. To me it was about the lack of respect from the conference.
There were conversations by some in the past year that suggested Michigan could start their own conference with the USC, Washington, Oregon and ND being the foundation of the new conference. Now with USC as a possible partner this may be back on the table.
I believe that it would be a big mistake for the conference to let Michigan get away and one could make the argument that it's a mistake for Michigan to leave the conference; however, Michigan has the cache to exit and start over again successfully if they chose to, and not every school could legitimately say that. I don't think they will let Michigan and USC get away because it's all about the Benjamins. IMHO!!!
I would expect Michigan to play hardball and not sign off on any revenue sharing when it needs 100% of its revenue to support its own athletic programs.
Why would this be a mistake for Michigan? The NCAA has ruined everything and there is no going back now. The rivalries are no longer the same as it means nothing. There are no rules and it's just who can pay the most. Michigan is a joke and they never stood up to the NCAA and that is Warde and our administration. We are weak, but we will hold out for more money as the school is run by.....
Amazing how now Michigan will play hardball now as they let the NCAA run all over them and did nothing. Our AD and administration never had Harbaugh's back, but now we are going to be tough guys. What a joke!
I know what you're saying, but we only had to pay a fine for the whole sign stealing bullshit.
