Michigan Football got off to a show start in the portal as it had to secure its own roster first. As expected there were some wins and loses with that strategy. Now the staff is in place and they are working the portal.
- Staying home: Jyaire Hill, Michigan will have its two starters back at CB but has zero depth at this point. Hill had NFL options if he wanted.
- Heading to the Draft: Jimmy Rolder is going to the NFL and we wish him luck!
- New to the party: Freshman WR from Texas Jamie Ffrench! Buddies with Marsh!
- New to the party: Utah WR/TE JJ Buchanan, some have him listed as the portals #1 TE!
- New to the party: CSU QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi an experienced guy with 28 starts.
- New to the party: Utah DL Jonah Lea'ea much needed help on the D-line!
- Going - Justice is in the portal 😒 as GT offered $3M
- Going - Sounds like Haywood had buyers remorse and is heading back to Bama
I like the strategy by Michigan's new staff so far. They even added Tony Alford's son via the portal who is a WR from Butler. The Michigan staff is doing what I had hoped, they are adding talent to Michigan's talented roster, not importing Utah's entire roster to Ann Arbor or what they are doing in Happy Valley.
Still need LB's, DB's, and some offensive line depth. Maybe another TE.
- I guess we need to discuss what happened on Saturday at Crisler. A loss was going to happen and Wisconsin just caught fire from 3 in the second half. The team probably needed a loss after the way they have played the last few times on the floor. I hope this gets them focused and back to playing great basketball. Yax needs that ankle to heal up, he is just not 100% out there.
- Loveland had a fantastic playoff game in Chicago. Jimmy did not last night. Tough week for the Harbaughs.

Michigan's new coaching staff are experienced and has been successful throughout their careers. They were going to make sound and smart decisions. What's actually happening is that Whittingham is making this team "his" and not necessarily: "The team that he inherited," which is good. That's why most people when they buy a new house they paint something or change something to mark their own territory. I'm good with that.
We could have predicted a basketball loss coming sometime during the season. How many teams do we know that have gone throughout the entire season undefeated? Maybe seven in all, 4 UCLA teams, 1 Indiana team, 1 USF, 1 UNC with the last undefeated team being 50 years ago this year. Michigan hasn't been one of those teams this year and I doubt if there will be one in the foreseeable future. As long as we grow from the loss, we will be fine. IMHO!!!
Love the recent portal additions by Whitt. Got some much needed help at WR and a 5 star RB in Tatum. Most importantly, guys that want to be here.
I trust Whittingham's judgement on talent more than Sherrone's, so Im not overly concerned about the guys leaving in the portal. Like I said, most are just testing the water and will be back.
