Michigan Tuesday: Injuries, Head Coach, QB2, JJ, and More!

Always plenty to discuss after a Michigan loss but usually one of the concerns is not, who will coach the team the next two weeks?  Thus, this is Michigan Football 2025.

Let's just get to the news shall we:
  • Biff is the Michigan head coach for the next two weeks.  My guess is this was the plan all along and one of the reasons he came back to Ann Arbor.  This allows Biff to coach the game and the Coordinators to coach their groups.  Great decision!
  • Rod Moore has a very good chance of playing this weekend.  Yes, Please
  • Klein is getting better
  • El-Hadi is day to day and it doesn't sound like a serious injury
  • Same with Berry
  • Sherrone also confirms he doesn't have a solid QB2.  When asked if he would like to see Bryce run more, his answer consisted of: Yes, but you better have a second QB ready if your going to do that.  A moment of honesty from a head coach in a press conference is refreshing.
  • I have been disappointed we have not seen the true freshman CB Earls.  He showed up on the injury report this week.  Some rumors are he got injured warming up for the New Mexico game.
  • Orji is out for the season at UNLV, he tore his hamstring on his only carry last weekend.
  • JJ started his NFL career rough last night, including a bad pick 6 to start the 2nd half.  Then rallies like the gamer he is and wins the game in the 4th.
  • Loveland also made his first NFL start and had 2 catches for 12 total yards for the Bears.
  • Nebraska game will be a 3:30 kick.  MSU - USC will be a 11:00 PM kick that weekend.
  • Bonus stat from the NFL:  J.J. McCarthy is the first starting QB with a 10+ point 4th quarter comeback in his NFL debut since Steve Young in 1985. He is the only such QB since 1950 to do so on the road

I've just watched the Steve Deace "Michigan Podcast" and I've never seen anyone so freaked out about a Michigan loss, and he himself said it best when he used the term, "Chicken Little" and "the sky is falling." Now I saw the same game and the same issues and yes what I saw bothered me deeply but I also keep in mind that last year Notre Dame lost their second game to Northern Illinois 16-14 and ended up the season playing osu losing 34-24 in the National Championship game. I'm not saying that Michigan will duplicate the same thing, however, my point is that it's much too early to flush this team and this season down the toilet.

Yes, Sherone Moore needs to make sure that he doesn't coach scared and if he feels that he needs two QB's in order to get Bryce to run then prepare a second QB...period. These are your recruits. Let me first say that I come from the school of thought where you don't make excuses you make a way to make it work. If you can't get what you want, then get what you need. Take personal responsibility and get it done. You are the damn head coach!

The team even though there were worts should have come out of Oklahoma (win or lose) letting the Sooners know that at least they were in a fight. He promised that Michigan will smash but when he got to Oklahoma the sooners were the only ones smashing. I'm an older guy but I will say this, I remember the late Vince Lombardi's telling his players that they've got to leave it all on the field, while his players were saying i.e., that they did give it all on the field because they were more afraid of their coach than the other team (my interpretation). A team is a reflection of their coach, so coach "gird up your loins and act like a man" (Job 38:3). IMHO!!!

Great post. Makes me want to quit posting .... because if this post was rated a 100, mine would be (at most) a 1 ort 2. Some of us are made to post ... others just to read them .... I am in the read only class.
