As we expected, Warde is fumbling and bumbling this coaching search. He met with the team on Monday and wants to have a head coach in place by the Citrus Exhibition against Texas. So the possibility of some hand shake agreement with DeBoer is now dead and Michigan is sorting through Plan B options. Biff clearly wants the job and says he is going to clean up the 5 year mess. It's a mess alright.
Sam Webb is also saying stuff. He said that Dillingham played Michigan, had a interview set up on Saturday which he cancelled after leveraging Michigan for a raise. He seems to understand the Agents playbook very well. The next step in the playbook is to leverage an NFL opening.
Sam has also been saying that Jeff Brohm is a strong candidate and now expects an answer either way on or before Christmas Eve as his Louisville Cardinals play in the Boca Bowl today at 2:00 against Toledo.
Just so I understand this, Michigan is going to hire a coach that is playing in the Boca Bowl that is offering free tickets if you donate a can of beans to charity? MENTAL WARDE
Below is Jeff's record with Western Kentucky, Purdue, and Louisville. Those are some pretty nice Bowl Wins in there. What the Hell Are We Doing?

Jeff is known as a good offensive mind but he is also known to be a bit nuts. We have all seen that clip of his playing days in the XFL. I'm sorry this would be a a terrible hire. He is nowhere near a fit for Ann Arbor. What is his best win, this year over Miami?
Folks, I'm at a point where Michigan should fire Warde, hire Jason Eck, ask Biff to stay, keep RB's coach Tony Alford, DL coach Big Lou, and OL coach Grant Newsome. Hire a new young OC and a new young DC and start cleaning up this mess.
Your thought might be, Jason who? I get it. He has turned around 2 dead programs very quickly. Gave Michigan all they wanted in the opener and his known as great coach and a better person. If Michigan is going to take a risk, get ahead of the curve, hire a guy that will be a hot candidate next year and lets start putting the pieces back together that Warde has destroyed.

Not saying this would be a great move but read Notre Dame coach might want to jump ship for NFL .... should he be a target? .... did no research so I can't say yes or no ..... other than that, do not let Warde hire a chump!!!
Whomever is hired, we have to have a QB coach to develop Bryce Underwood. He needs to be an established developer. Chip did a pretty good job calling plays (when Sheronne let him) but Bryce also needs to know that his future is in good hands here in Michigan. A big part of the negative recruiting that was done by LSU against Michigan was that Michigan doesn't develop QB's. Schools no doubt are still doing that. We've got to be better. IMHO!!!
Ohio State hired Jim Tressel out of Youngstown State? There has to be a hidden gem in a Div III school (or something like that)
I agree that Brohm is a no go. While in the Big 10 a 36-34 record. No Way
ENOUGH with the Biff Poggi bullshit. what has he ever done? buy his way into a private HS that recruited the best athletes in the DMV? not impressed by coaches that do less with more! other HS programs didn't respect him as he wasn't a good coach just had (bought?) better players. if he was so sweet...why was he 6-16 at FBS Charlotte. if the best Michigan can do is Biff Poggi, shut the damn program down. Don't give me this, he helped Jim turn around Michigan. if by helping Jim, he introduced him to Connor Stallions, oh....OKAY! and don't get it twisted. I don't give a flip about the sign stealing scandal. if you ain't cheating, you ain't trying to win hard enough, IMHO!
If Michigan hires Biff Poggi as their next coach, the only reason I'll be on this site next season is to rub Bob's nose in it, when Michigan goes 4 and 8.
And riddle me this Batman? when was the last time Michigan football went out and hired away some other school's elite football coach? NEVER! Wasn't RichRod? don't give me Jim, as he was out of work after the Niners dumped him. Since Bo, this program has either made incestuous hires or stepped on their Johnson with RichRod. Want to know why this program is so effed up? Coaching inbreeding......fine, I'll tone it down and call it group think. the whole "Michigan Man" thing has led to this close mined, closed box way of looking at the world. we don't do anything wrong.....just ask us!! One of the greatest learning tools and the way to get better is to admit your weakness and work on them to get better. Listen to the sound bites from former players....Aiden Hutchinson blaming the loss to Pittsburgh on officiating. Yeah Aiden, you and your defensive teammates giving up 250 yards rushing had nothing to do with that loss. Sick of the blame game. How about just standing up like men and saying we have to be better!
Unfortunately, until the University settles on the next President, nothing big is going to happen. Even if the interim President fires Warde, don't expect him to make a new AD hire. So most coaches don't want to take a job when their boss will probably not be their boss in 6 months. So you'll end up with an interim HC and another season of pain and the program taking another step or 2 back.
Great Scotty! who's the next Jim Tressel? or Mark Dantonio? For every Jim Tressel there's a handful of Johnny Steponmycocks! Hindsight is always 20/20
Marcus Freeman would be a homerun, but he's being mentioned in NFL circles. so why would he want to stay in college? and if he did, why leave South Bend? look at next years schedule? They play the likes of Leader dogs of the blind, The Culinary Institute of America, and Rocco's school of typewriter maintenance.
Bob, I think Jason Eck would be a solid hire and better than Brohm and yes Warde should've already been fired, but remember this is Michigan and the regents are weak and always have been. So no, I don't have faith in Warde or the regents. And to Chowman's point we have never went out and grabbed an elite coach which makes no sense but look at all the years after Bo; Lloyd Carr was below average, RR, Hoke and even Jimmy had some weird years. This is all on Warde and Michigan as we are picking up the pieces from a guy that had no business being the coach. I just keep venting as it's frustrating, depressing, etc., but we do have basketball!
and SBM, I'll go a step further. Warde didn't hire Jim. Hackett did and probably caused much of the consternation between the two. Love Jim or hate him, I'm almost certain he pointed out the fact Warde didn't hire him. Warde didn't have stones to fire Jim. if he ever had the chance it was after 2020 and the covid year. My point is having an interim or lame duck AD making your next hire doesn't typically go too well. At MOST schools, an ADs job performance is usually evaluated on the football program. At least at schools like Michigan, so most ADs want their own man unless they are inheriting a legend.
"Peace" on Earth good will toward men... hahahahaha......
